Fabio J. Guzman Ariza, President of Gaceta Judicial and Senior Partner of the Guzman Ariza law firm, recently held a conference on the incorporation of limited liability companies, entities introduced in the Dominican Republic last December by Company Law No. 479-08 which will come into force June 19, 2009, and on the transformation of “sociedades anónimas” (stock corporations) into “sociedades de responsabilidad limitada” (limited liability companies). Alfredo A. Guzman Saladin, associate attorney at the firm, also spoke at the conference on the new regulations relating to the posts of manager and statutory auditor in a limited liability company.

The event, held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Santo Domingo, was attended by more than 400 attorneys and accountants.
