Dominican Customs Department Removes 10% CIF tax

The Dominican Republic Customs Department removed the 10% tax on CIF value (Cost, Insurance and Freight) previously applied to re-shipments. The application of the tax was found to be illegal under article 3.8 of the Central America-Dominican Republic-United States Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA-DR) dealing with import and export restrictions.
